Lunch & Learn: "Witness Perception and Memory"

Sponsored by: Exponent

Online registration is now closed. Onsite registrations will be accepted.

Program Description:
In situations where witness testimony becomes important, it is critical to understand the scientific interplay among witness testimony, physical evidence, and known factors influencing witness perception and memory. This seminar will provide an overview of how these elements can combine and contribute in the investigation of individual incidents. Specific topics will include:
  • The use of physical evidence in evaluating witness observations and discrepancies
  • The science of how we form, store, and retrieve memories
  • Environmental, individual, and situational factors that affect these processes
  • Tips for reducing bias when questioning witnesses
Anyone who interviews, deposes, or assesses witnesses and their observations-including investigators, insurance claims adjustors, and litigators-will benefit from participating.
We look forward to having you join us!
