"Employer-Mandated Vaccination Programs and a COVID-19 Legal Update" Lunch & Learn - Live Webinar
Wednesday, February 24, 2021, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM EDT
Category: Events

COVID-19 vaccinations dominate the headlines and probably your social media news feeds. Experts believe the vaccines are generally safe and effective and may be the only way out of the pandemic once herd immunity is achieved. So what ramifications do COVID-19 vaccines have for employers and employees in the workforce? More poignantly, what legal issues are presented to employers in either implementation of a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for employees, or the failure to implement such a policy?

In addition to vaccinations, employers continue to face evolving regulations related to COVID-19. On December 28, 2020, Congress passed a second stimulus package extending paid leave provisions created by the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). But the extension (through March 31, 2021) removed the mandate that employers must provide access to the paid programs. What does this mean for employers who decide to offer the programs? What are the possible legal issues created by this change to the program? What is on the horizon with the new administration looking at additional COVID-19 relief?

Join Joseph Borchelt and Thomas Spyker as they discuss Employer-Mandated Vaccination Programs and a COVID-19 Legal Update. Joseph and Thomas will also be discussing the following topics:
  • Employer-mandated vaccination policies
  • Employer liability
  • Employer risk
  • Potential OSHA liability
  • General tort liability
  • Paid Sick Leave and Extended FMLA under the extended paid leave programs
  • Employer obligations under the extended paid leave programs
  • Employer liability risk under the extended paid leave programs
